About the conference

The 8th International Conference
on BORATE GLASSES, CRYSTALS AND MELTS

June 30 - July 2, 2014

The eighth conference follows the previous meetings held at

Alfred, New York, USA (1977);
Abingdon, UK (1996);
Sofia, Bulgaria (1999);
Cedar Rapids, USA (2002),
Trento, Italy (2005),
Himeji, Japan (2008)
and Halifax, Canada (2011).

The conference will be dedicated to Professor Stanislav Filatov from the Saint Petersburg State University to honor his achievements in Borate Crystallography.

The International Conference
on PHOSPHATE GLASSES

July 2 - 4, 2014

This conference will cover all aspects of phosphate - and phosphate-containing glasses, including basic science, applications and technologies. A common session on July 2 on borophosphate glasses will form a bridge between the Borate and Phosphate conferences.

Dr. Doris Ehrt from the Otto-Schott Institut, University of Jena (Germany) will be honored for her contribution to phosphate optical glasses.
